Out of an Estate: Antique Sterling & Ebony Engraved Sept. 11th 1900 Hand Mirror & Brush Set.
Both pieces Hallmarked.
The Brush W & Co. (John R. Wendt & Co. New York)
I believe the Hallmarks to be British
1. The Lion Passant is the mark that indicates the purity of the silver.
.925. The Anchor is the city mark which is Birmingham. I am not sure
of the other mark. Then on the JC there are more hallmarks & the Lion
Passant.
The top of the Brush is engraved Sept. 11, 1900.
2. Mirror W & C Is how it is marked! Also with the Lion Passant
With the letter K & a shield. Engraved initials on the Mirror CEF
The Beveled Mirror is in Excellent Condition & on the underside of
the handle it is marked EBONY.
Both items in Very Good Condition. The bristles on the brush show expected wear. All Pictured!
