    This week on EBay we are offering up this great Vintage pair of Billy Joel Tour books.
    These are from my personal collection and I purchased both of these at Billy Joel Concerts in New York City back in the day. They are both in great condition and have been well taken care of over the years.

    1984 "ROOT BEER RAG" 'SPECIAL EDITION' FANZINE/TOURBOOK

    The first Tour Book is from the 1978 North American Tour.
    Produced and Published by Brockum in New York City.
    This is a very cool, vintage Billy Joel Tourbook from his 1978 American Tour. "52nd Street" was the current album at the time.
    It is 12" x 9 1/2" and about 20 pages long. Full of great photos, articles and pictures of the supporting band. There is a great picture of Billy's hand-written lyrics for "Honesty"

    The other book is a 1984 'Special Edition' of Root Beer Rag.
    "Root Beer Rag" (RBR) was a popular Billy Joel bi-annual newsletter, published from 1980 until 1988. It was published by Billy Joel's management, out of Jericho, Long Island, and edited by Merry Aronson.
    The title of this Fanzine is taken from Billy Joel's instrumental song "Root Beer Rag" from 1974's 'Streetlife Serenade' album. It's a fan favorite and let's Joel show off his incredible piano skills.
    The RBR was aimed at fans and contained exclusive interviews, articles, photos, and fun facts about Billy, his band, and his crew. In 1988, Billy broke up with his former manager, Frank Weber, and the newsletter ceased. This is a 1984 Edition.
    RBR was available by mail order but also on sale at the 1984 shows. I purchased this copy at one of his shows at the Garden in New York City on the 1984 Tour.
    This was a 'Special Edition' of RBR, published in 1983, celebrating Billy Joel's upcoming 1984 World Tour with "BJ and the Affordables" in support of the "Innocent Man" album.
    It contains articles, interviews, merchandise and lots of color photographs.
    It has a great article "From Piano Man to An Innocent Man" about his 10 years of recording and touring. Billy's history is summarized in "The Ballad of Billy the Kid' by Timothy White.
    There's an Interview about the popularity and future of Music Videos, an Interview with drummer Liberty DeVitto and Ads for Merchandise.
    It has a full Discography, showing each album and listing the individual songs from the albums.
    A fantastic combination Fanzine and Tourbook.

    The covers of both of these Tourbooks show some minor, honest, age-related cover wear and coner wear, but they are both still in great condition for their age.
