More Information
How to Replace Your Door Flap
The Deluxe Patio Panels have either one center screw or two screws above the flap. Remove the screw(s) and pull down on the flap or the metal flap holder. Slide the old flap out and slide the new one into the flap holder. Reinsert the flap holder into the frame and reinstall screw(s).
The flap for the Wall Entry Aluminum Pet Door and the Classic Pet Door flap slides into a channel on the top of the frame. To replace the flap, the door must be removed from the installed surface and the screw (either on the right or left side of the top of the frame) must be removed. The old flap can now slide out and the new one will slide in.
Which Replacement Flap Do I Need for the Wall Entry Aluminum Pet Door?
The new model uses the Freedom Replacement Flap. The old model Wall Entry Aluminum Pet Door uses the Classic Replacement Flap. If you're not sure which version door you have, compare your door to the picture below. On the new model door:
The flap is secured with 3, 4, or 5 screws at the top of the flap frame.
The inner white frame is flat and nearly flush with the main brown frame, with no major grooves.
The bottom of the flap has a thin, black weather sweep without ridges.
