The workmanship as we all know requires no explanation.
The design is taken from mythology and features the god Cupid tenderly kissing Psyche to bring her back to life. They are surrounded by heavenly clouds as this is the moment of the actual kiss and Psyche has not yet emerged from her lifeless slumber. She presents passively, while Cupid urgently but tenderly clasps her face in his hand so that his kiss to her lips will be true.
Amazing repousse on the top, in outstanding condition. Crisp, sharply defined details. No dents or scratches or loss of definition to the top.
No monogram.
The body of the brush is in very good condition with some denting as shown in the images. The Medusa face on the handle is perfect on the back side and has a tiny irrelevant spot of flattening on the mirror side.
The mirror itself is in outstanding and exceptional condition. Crystal clear glass. No foxing or cloudiness and nearly zero scratches.
This beautiful mirror would enhance any dressing table.
