Vulcan® FRP Scrubber - This scrubber has an overall contacting height of 23'5" spread over 2 (two) zones, 1 (one) measuring 10' and the other at 13'5". The scrubber dimensions are square at 8' long x 8' wide for an overall contacting volume of 1,500 ft3. The first contacting zone consists of 7 (seven) sprays and the second zone has 14 (fourteen) sprays. Overall height of the scrubber is 29' and has a maximum width of 110". The scrubber is constructed out of fiberglass reinforced plastic (FRP) for operation in a variety of corrosive processes, mostly applicable for acid gas absorption, hydration and saturation.
Approximate volumes/flow rates:
≈ 40,000 scfm at 10 ft3/sec. velocity
≈ 115,000 scfm at 30 ft3/sec. velocity
Materials that can be processed:
air pollutants, chemical compounds, organic and inorganic compounds
Process:
cooling gas stream discharge and acid absorption, hydration and saturation
Industrial use:
The Vulcan FRP Scrubber can be used to condense organic and inorganic gases, cool gas streams and the acid absorption, hydration and saturation of vapor streams.
